Hi everyone. Thank you for dropping in! I'm Mark, Skipper / Marketer for The Polar Front. Together with my 'Old Man' - Phil, I've been involved from the very start of the adventure back in 2006.
I'm into every activity going! Skiing, climbing and kayaking provide a lifetime of entertainment to me and I really look forward to sharing some of my favourite places with you. If you are looking for a stunning wilderness with some of the best adventure sport destinations in the world, North Norway will not disappoint.

Welcome to The Polar Front.
I'm the 'Old Man' of the business, but don't let that deceive you. This year I managed to spend 9 weeks onboard Polar Bear, visiting Shetland, Faroes, Lofoten, Lyngen and of course my favourite - Spitsbergen.
Together with my son Mark, we created The Polar Front in 2006. Buying Polar Bear was one of the biggest decisions of my life, a huge wave of excitement at the potential for this boat washed over me, drowning out any voices in my head which said "You must be mad!!!"
I trust this website provides a glimpse of what we are all about, and I do hope you choose to come and see for real! It is my job to make sure you are not disappointed!
