Safety comes as standard on any of our trips. The environment in which we work could be very hazardous without proper equipment and instruction. Therefore we are absolutely committed to providing all our guests and staff with correct safety equipment and information needed to prevent accidents.
Upon joining Polar Bear you will receive a safety briefing from the Skipper. This will be the first of many briefings which are vital for communication yet break down a 'red-tape' culture on the boat. We want you to get involved in the working of Polar Bear but we know that many guests will have had no prior experience of sailing. That's why our professional crew will be on hand to instruct, inform and include our guests, helping you get even more from the whole experience.
We work tirelessly where safety is concerned. When in UK waters, we often provide training events with the RNLI and RAF helicopter. These 'Emergency at Sea' events are a great way to simulate patient transfers.
Whilst every precaution is taken to prevent accidents onboard Polar Bear, it does no harm to practice and practice again how to deal with problems if they occur.
