Okay, how does this sound for an adventure...
This summer Polar Bear will act as base camp to two separate expeditions to Jan Mayen Island. Situated 400 miles west of the Lofoten Islands, and 400 miles East of Greenland, Jan Mayen is the very essence of inaccessibility!
The Island has the most northerly volcano in the world - 'Beeremberg' at 2277 metres. A challenge which seems irresistible to members of the expedition, organized by Eco-Expeditions (www.ecoexpeditions.no/).
Both trips will last 14 days, including 3 full days of sailing (each way) and 6 days climbing a very big, glacial (and hopefully not too active) volcano!
The first trip 13th - 27th June is now fully booked...
however, for the true adventurer, there are still berths left for the second 1st July - 14th July.
