Polar Bear

Originally constructed as a racing yacht, Polar Bear has been put to the test in the world's wildest places.  After three circumnavigations 'west-about', she has encountered conditions which would be beyond most small vessels.  It is no exaggeration to say she is one of the strongest sailing yachts on the water.

Her hull is made of 5mm steel plate, giving her considerable weight and unquestionable strength.  A 12 ton keel gives her the stability to create comfort in rough conditions, whilst her enormous sail area enables her to sail very quickly in a good breeze.

Polar Bear is the ideal boat for The Polar Front.  She is our comfortable home in the most remote corners of the Arctic. What ever the conditions may be like on deck, we always have a warm, dry and spacious environment below decks.

She has onboard facilities which you might not expect on a boat, all enabling you to relax and enjoy this stunning environment, reassured that Polar Bear is the boat to get you there - and back without a fuss!
