Dates: 10th July - 28th July 2010
Ocean Miles: 670
Inshore Miles: 320
Passage Summary:
This is going to be an exciting passage! The team will join the boat in Akureyri - Iceland, then sail north to Jan Mayen. Given fair winds we should reach the island in three days for a chance to climb Beeremberg. Once off the mountain the next stage is a shorter sail towards East Greenland and Scoresby Sund, largest fjord in the world. At the western end of the fjord lies Milne Land, and that's where we hope to stretch the legs once again amongst the stunning Alpine style peaks.
This is an adventurous and demanding challenge combining open ocean sailing with some very big mountains. The perfect recipe for the trip of a lifetime!
Greenland experts Paul Walker and Paul Rose will be guiding on this trip for Tangent Expeditions. With 20 years of commercial expeditioning in Greenland, Tangent Expeditions have a few rather special places to share with us! We can't wait for this one!
