The Arctic Experience 2011 (June / July / August )

2011 is going to be our most exciting and adventurous Arctic voyage to date.
The Arctic Experience 2011 will take Polar Bear to some of the most remote regions in the High Arctic including: Jan Mayen, East Greenland, Spitsbergen and Bear Island.
This voyage will cover over 3000 miles, through the Norwegian Sea, Greenland Sea and Barents Sea forming an impressive triangle around the Arctic Ocean.
The voyage will be broken into 3 legs, each lasting 14 days.
Leg 1: Bodo (Norway) - Jan Mayen - Akureyri (Iceland)
Leg 2: Iceland - Jan Mayen - Scoresby Sund (Greenland)
Leg 3: Greenland - Longyearbyen (Spitsbergen)
Leg 4: Spitsbergen Circumnavigation - Bear Island - Tromso (Norway)
There is an airport with international connections at the beginning / end of each leg, allowing guests to join us from anywhere in world.
The drive behind this incredible voyage is exploration. Polar Bear has already sailed to Jan Mayen, Spitsbergen and much of Northern Norway, but in 2010 she will go further and explore more of the remote High Arctic..
Time ashore will be a priority on each of the legs, giving us the chance to climb remote peaks, paddle amongs the ice bergs, photograph / film and discover wildlife that would make any naturalist jealous.
We are already working with local guides to ensure that each landfall is as safe, organised and rewarding as possible.
If this sounds like your kind of adventure, please contact us for more information.
